Terms And Conditions

 

1. BOOKING & CONFIRMATION

1.1 All bookings must be made through Jumbo Trail Safaris via email, website, phone, or authorized agents.
1.2 A booking is considered confirmed only after receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from Jumbo Trail Safaris.
1.3 The Company reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.


2. PAYMENT TERMS

2.1 A minimum deposit of 30–50% of the total safari cost is required to confirm a booking (unless otherwise stated).
2.2 The full balance must be paid at least 14–30 days before the safari start date.
2.3 Last-minute bookings (within 7 days of travel) require full payment upon booking.
2.4 Payments can be made via bank transfer, mobile money, or other approved methods.
2.5 Any bank charges, transaction fees, or currency conversion fees are the responsibility of the client.


3. PRICES & SURCHARGES

3.1 All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated.
3.2 Prices are subject to change due to:

  • Government tax increases

  • Park fee changes

  • Fuel surcharges

  • Currency fluctuations
    3.3 Once full payment is received, prices are guaranteed except in cases of force majeure.


4. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
4.1 Client-Initiated Cancellations
  • 30+ days before departure: Deposit may be refunded less administrative fees

  • 15–29 days before departure: 50% cancellation fee

  • 7–14 days before departure: 75% cancellation fee

  • Less than 7 days / No-show: 100% cancellation fee

4.2 Refunds

where applicable, will be processed within 14–30 working days.

4.3 Company-Initiated Cancellations

If Jumbo Trail Safaris cancels a trip due to unavoidable circumstances, clients will receive:

  • A full refund OR

  • The option to reschedule OR

  • A credit voucher


5. CHANGES TO ITINERARY

5.1 Jumbo Trail Safaris reserves the right to modify itineraries due to weather conditions, road conditions, wildlife movements, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control.
5.2 Such changes do not entitle the client to refunds, provided the overall safari experience is maintained.


6. PASSPORTS, VISAS & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

6.1 Clients are responsible for ensuring they hold:

  • A valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)

  • Appropriate visas

  • Required travel documents
    6.2 Jumbo Trail Safaris is not responsible for denied entry due to incomplete documentation.


7. HEALTH, SAFETY & MEDICAL CONDITIONS

7.1 Clients must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements prior to travel.
7.2 It is recommended that travelers:

  • Consult a doctor before travel

  • Obtain required vaccinations

  • Carry personal medication
    7.3 Jumbo Trail Safaris is not liable for illness, injury, or medical emergencies during the safari.


8. TRAVEL INSURANCE

8.1 Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients.
8.2 Insurance should cover:

  • Medical emergencies

  • Trip cancellation

  • Personal injury

  • Loss of baggage
    8.3 The Company is not responsible for losses that should be covered by insurance.


9. LIABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY

9.1 Jumbo Trail Safaris acts as an agent for hotels, lodges, airlines, and transport providers.
9.2 We are not liable for:

  • Injury, death, or loss of property

  • Delays, cancellations, or strikes

  • Acts of God (floods, pandemics, weather events)

  • Wildlife behavior (animals are wild and unpredictable)

9.3 Participation in safari activities is entirely at the client’s own risk.


10. SAFARI CONDUCT & BEHAVIOR

10.1 Clients must follow:

  • Guide instructions

  • Park regulations

  • Safety rules
    10.2 Harassment, reckless behavior, or illegal activity may result in termination of the safari without refund.


11. ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORT

11.1 Accommodation is based on availability at the time of booking.
11.2 Similar standard alternatives may be provided if original accommodations are unavailable.
11.3 Safari vehicles are shared unless otherwise specified (private safari).


12. CHILDREN POLICY

12.1 Children must be supervised by parents/guardians at all times.
12.2 Certain lodges and activities may have age restrictions.


13. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA

13.1 Jumbo Trail Safaris may use photographs or videos taken during tours for marketing purposes.
13.2 Clients who do not wish to appear in promotional material must inform us in writing.


14. FORCE MAJEURE

14.1 Jumbo Trail Safaris shall not be held responsible for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters

  • Government actions

  • Pandemics

  • Civil unrest


15. COMPLAINTS & CLAIMS

15.1 Any complaints must be reported immediately during the safari for resolution.
15.2 Written complaints must be submitted within 14 days after completion of the tour.


16. GOVERNING LAW

16.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya.
16.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.


17. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By confirming a booking with Jumbo Trail Safaris, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
